Florida is surrounded by water. Floridians depend on healthy waterways and diverse populations of fish and wildlife. They provide us with recreational opportunities, abundant beauty, and food. They also support our commercial fishing, tourism, and recreation industries. For a long time, Floridians have treated water like an unlimited resource. Overuse of water is depleting our natural aquifers and surface waters, threatening the very building blocks of our way of life.
In Partnership with Duke Energy, Audubon’s Water for Florida’s Future program engages the public in water and energy conservation using simple steps to save water inside the home, outside the home and in your community. By becoming an Audubon Community Steward you can move the needle on conserving water in Florida.
